⚠️ SERIOUS TALK, DON’T SKIP THE PREP ⚠️

Because your tan is only as good as the canvas it goes on.

I’m going to say this with love... but also with my serious face:

If you half-prep, you’ll get a half-glow. And no one wants a spray tan that looks like a burnt biscuit in places.

This ain’t just a suggestion — it’s THE RULE. Your skin has to be clean, smooth, and ready to receive the bronzed blessing. If you show up with lotion, deodorant, day-old makeup, or your last tan still hanging on like a clingy ex — your results will suffer. And I don’t do patchy.

IF YOU SKIP PREP:

  • Your tan will grab to dry skin like drama to reality TV.

  • It’ll fade funky, uneven, and not in a cute ombré way.

  • You’ll message me wondering why it’s blotchy…

and I’ll send you right back to this paragraph.

So do us both a favor — exfoliate, shave, and show up squeaky clean and lotion-free.
The better you prep, the better you glow. Period.

Love ya, mean it.
— Your Spray Tan Soul Sister

A flawless tan is only created by what you do immediately before and after a spray tan.

🛁 THE DAY BEFORE YOUR TAN

Let’s get your skin prepped like it’s going on a first date with glow.

  • Exfoliate like your tan depends on it.

Use a mitt or scrub to remove old product, dry patches, or the memory of last summer’s self-tan disaster. Focus on the elbows, knees, and ankles.

  • Shave/Wax. Do it TODAY — not tomorrow.

Razor burn + fresh tan = blotchy regrets with strawberry dots.

  • Hydrate your skin.

Moisturize the night before, not the day of.  Skin that is hydrated  tans better. Think buttery smooth, not greased-up grill pan.

☀️ THE DAY OF YOUR TAN

This is not the day to wing it. We’re going full glow game plan.

  • Shower at least 3-4 hours before your appointment.

We’re not bronzing do. Give your pores time to chill.

  • Skip makeup, lotions, oils, and deodorant.

We want clean, dry skin — not a slip-n-slide for the solution, because              this is GLOW time, not glam time.

  • Wear dark, loose clothing.

Tight clothing will make your skin look like wrinkled shirt that's been           in the laundry pile for 3 weeks.

  • Tie your hair up and bring a vibe.

         I’ll handle the rest.

🌙 POST-TAN CARE

Now that you're a glazed donut, Let's keep it that way.

  • Don’t get wet.
No sweating, no crying, no washing dishes (you're welcome). Stay dry for at least 8 hours (or follow Rapid rinse time if you did that).

  • When it’s rinse time, use lukewarm water ONLY.
No soap. No scrubbing. No loofahs. This is a rinse, not a shower concert.

  • PAT dry, don't rub.
You’re not sanding furniture — you’re preserving the masterpiece.

  • Moisturize daily with TAN-SAFE lotion and AVOID products that act like paint strippers on your tan. Click here to see the list.
Hydration is the secret sauce to making your glow last.

  • Avoid hot baths, chlorine, and long soaks.
Unless you want your tan to ghost you early.

To maintain a spray tan, avoid products containing mineral oil, petroleum, perfume, alcohol, and sulfates. These ingredients can cause the tan to fade prematurely or become patchy. A good rule to go by is go with products with SHORT ingredients list and that don't list the above ingredients.

Specifically, avoid creamy bar soaps, Dove products, and anti-acne treatments like those with AHAs and salicylic acid.

Additionally, steer clear of waxing products, many shaving products, and anything that exfoliates, such as scrubs or loofahs.
